Akshay Kumar‘s upcoming films, The Great Indian Rescue and Start Up, have been the talk of the town lately. According to the latest reports, Akshay Kumar’s Start Up is on track for its scheduled release on September 1, 2023, despite the release of Shah Rukh Khan‘s Jawan on September 7, 2023. The team is confident in the content of their film and believes that it caters to an audience base that’s very different from Shah Rukh Khan’s film. Capsule Gill, which has been retitled The Great Indian Rescue, will release on 13th October, and though the team is considering two dates in the month of October and official announcement will come soon.
About The Great Indian Rescue
The Great Indian Rescue is a biopic based on the real-life story of additional chief mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, who rescued 65 miners. Akshay Kumar plays the role of Jaswant Singh Gill, and his first look as the chief mining engineer in a turban has already gone viral on social media. The film is being directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, who previously directed Akshay Kumar in Rustom. The Great Indian Rescue is Akshay Kumar’s third film with Pooja Entertainment, and the production house is yet to announce the official title of the film.

About Start Up:
Film will hit cinemas on 1st September. Start Up is the official remake of Tamil Film, Sorrarai Pottru, a national award winning film starring Surya.
Soorarai Pottru recently bagged five National Awards – Best Feature Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay and Best Background Score. The film’s Hindi dubbed version, Udaan, released on Amazon Prime Video in 2021 on April 4, and has been a hit among audiences since then. The movie is partly inspired from the life events of G.R. Gopinath, the founder of Simplify Deccan, and has Suriya essaying the main lead.
Suriya plays Maara – the young man who roots for a dream for the middle class to fly a low-cost airline. That, right there, is the plot that is worth a million dollars of screen time. The huge audience response and fandom behind it made sure it was a worthy movie to be dubbed so as to reach bigger masses and in it’s hindi version, it is looking to create a bigger impact for the south star. “An ordinary man with extraordinary dreams.” – reads the caption and we are hooked.
