He recently announced Bell Bottom which will release in January 2021, and now it’s been said he’s all set to back Bhaagamathie, a Telugu film set to get its remake in Hindi. The original one-starred Anushka Shetty who rose to prominence with Baahubali.
According to a report on an online portal, “Akshay Kumar will be collaborating with producer Vikram Malhotra for the Hindi remake of Bhaagamathie. The film will star R. Madhavan and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles. Director G Ashok, who originally helmed Bhaagamathie, will direct the remake as well. Meanwhile, the talks are currently on and it is also reported that Akshay Kumar will have a cameo part in the film. He will shoot for six to eight days. It is on the lines of horror suspense like Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The film will go on floor by early December.”
The story of Bhaagamathie revolves around the life of an IAS officer named Chanchala Reddy. She gets imprisoned in a haunted house which leads to some unpredictable twists.
Her character gets possessed by a spirit and how and what she does next is the remaining story. As far as the box office is concerned, it was a successful venture.
