Akshay Kumar To Play A Role Of Mining Engineer Sardar Jaswant Singh Gill In His Next Untitled Biopic. Details Inside!

It is believed to be backed by Pooja Entertainment and is is currently untitled.

Akshay Kumar began his career with Saugandh released in 1991 and the action thriller film Khiladi became his first commercial success at the Box-office. The actor is trying hard to bring laughter back to Hindi film industry like old times and recently announced that he won’t be a part of Hera Pheri Threequel.

Akshay will play the role of mining engineer Sardar Jaswant Singh Gill, who rescued 65 coal miners in 1989 in his next. His first avatar as Sardar Jaswant Singh Gill was leaked on social media where he was seen in a turban and glasses. It is believed to be backed by Pooja Entertainment and is currently untitled.

“Remembering Late Sardar Jaswant Singh Gill ji for his heroic role in rescuing 65 workers from a flooded coal mine, in 1989. We are proud of our #CoalWarriors who battle everyday against the odds to assure India’s energy security,” stated Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, on the 33rd anniversary of India’s first Coal mine rescue operation.

Akshay Kumar replied, “Grateful to you @JoshiPralhad ji, for recalling India’s first coal mine rescue mission – this day 33yrs ago. मेरा सौभाग्य है कि मैं #SardarJaswantSinghGill जी का किरदार अपनी फ़िल्म में निभा रहा हूँ. It’s a story like no other!”

 

 

Meanwhile, the actor recently starred in Ram Setu, Cuttputlli and will next be seen in OMG 2 – Oh My God! 2, Selfiee, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, a Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru, and the Marathi film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat.
