Akshay Kumar is one of the busiest actors around. He started shooting for his psychological thriller, Cinderella in London immediately after the release of Bell Bottom. The film is directed by Ranjit Tiwari and produced by Vashu Bhagnani.
We have now learnt that he is also prepping up for a second schedule of the Aanand L Rai directorial Raksha Bandhan in Delhi. He’s said to start this schedule on Sept 10, just a day after his birthday. But this schedule will be a very brief one, post which he will again get back to Cinderella.
“It’s a brief schedule at real locations of Delhi. Apart from Akshay, the leading lady of Raksha Bandhan, Bhumi Pednekar too will be a part of this schedule. The duo will be joined by Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb and Smrithi Srikanth, who play Kumar’s sisters in the film. Aanand L Rai has already concluded his recce and is all geared up for shooting at real locations with the team,” revealed a source to Pinkvilla.
Akshay Kumar had announced the film Raksha Bandhan on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan in 2020. He had dedicated the film to his sister Alka Bhatia.
He had earlier shot the first schedule of the film in June this year at a studio in Mumbai, where an entire city was recreated. Akshay Kumar had shared a beautiful note with his picture with Aanand L Rai.
The actor’s dates are currently being juggled between both films, since after Raksha Bandhan, Akshay needs to complete the remaining portions of Cindrella. “There will be another brief schedule of Raksha Bandhan after the Delhi shoot. The dates are being worked out.” added the source.
Raksha Bandhan is the second collaboration of Aanand and Akshay Kumar after Atrangi Re. “But the texture, color palette and representation of Delhi in Raksha Bandhan will be completely different from Atrangi Re. It’s a charismatic city, which has different facets to its personality.” concluded the source.
Raksha Bandhan is jointly written by Himanshu Sharma and his wife, Kanika Dhillon. It stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles and revolves around the love, bonding and attachment between a brother and his sisters.
