Akshay Kumar And Vidya Balan Spotted Filming Anees Bazmee’S Next In Munnar, Leaked Set Video Sparks Buzz

A leaked on-location video from Munnar has quickly put Anees Bazmee’s new film in the spotlight, with Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan seen filming atop a vehicle against Kerala’s lush hills. The clip has given fans their first proper look at the project in motion, and the visual itself is enough to spark curiosity. Big stars, a striking outdoor setup, and Bazmee behind the camera have combined to turn a brief set leak into a headline-grabbing moment.

The online excitement had already picked up when Akshay shared a travel update from the Kerala schedule with Vidya by his side. In that post, he wrote, “Next stop: God’s own country, the magical Keralam. Anees Bazmi’s next is my fourth film with the ever fabulous @balanvidya and I hope the good luck charm of our jodi continues.” The post confirmed that the film had moved into an active shooting phase, and the leaked Munnar video has now added a vivid on-ground glimpse to that announcement.

Leaked Munnar Shoot Video Puts The Film’S Kerala Schedule Front And Centre

What stands out in the circulating clip is the scale and setting of the schedule. Akshay and Vidya are seen filming on top of a moving vehicle along Munnar’s winding roads, suggesting that this is not a routine indoor leg but a visually mounted outdoor stretch. Production updates around the film have also placed the team in the Munnar and Marayoor region, reinforcing that Kerala is a key current location for the shoot.

That setting matters because Bazmee’s cinema has often thrived on lively staging, movement and strong crowd appeal. Seeing Akshay and Vidya in a road-based sequence under his direction immediately hints at a film designed with mainstream energy in mind. The title and genre are still under wraps, but the footage has already done what first-look campaigns usually aim for: it has created intrigue without giving too much away.

It has been reported that the project is a remake of Sankranthiki Vasthunam (2025). Dil Raju told that the Akshay-Anees film is not a remake per se and only the basic concept has been taken from the Venkatesh-starrer.

Prior to this, Akshay and Vidya have shared screen space in Heyy Babyy (2007), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), and most recently ‘Mission Mangal’ (2019). All these movies turned out to be a massive hit at the box office. Akshay is also teaming with filmmaker Anees Bazmee after a long gap of 15 years. The two have previously delivered blockbusters such as Singh Is Kinng (2008), Welcome (2007), and Thank You (2011).

Akshay Kumar’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Akshay has continued to stay busy on the big screen, with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Sarfira among his 2024 releases. Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan, proved to be successful film with 137 crore nett in two weeks at domestic box office. Against that backdrop, Bazmee’s in-production film adds another commercial title to a phase where Akshay is actively balancing scale-driven entertainers with familiar mass-market appeal.

Vidya Balan, meanwhile, was seen in Do Aur Do Pyaar and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 in 2024, the latter reconnecting her with one of the most memorable chapters of her mainstream filmography. This new Bazmee project places her back in a large-format commercial setup at a moment when she is moving comfortably between modern relationship dramas and franchise-backed visibility. The Munnar footage gives that shift a strong visual marker, because it captures the film at the exact point where curiosity begins to turn into anticipation.
