Akshay Kumar And Vidya Balan Lock A Late March Holi Song Shoot For Anees Bazmee’s Next

Akshay Kumar is in full promotional sprint mode this March, but the actor is also carving out time for a splash of colour on set. While he continues to push his horror comedy Bhooth Bangla, Kumar is scheduled to step into a very different vibe before the month ends, one that comes loaded with dhol beats, gulal, and a crowd-sized energy.

The newest update around his packed calendar is tied to his yet-untitled film with director Anees Bazmee, which brings him back into Bazmee’s brand of large-scale, star-driven entertainment. This time, the makers are mounting a festive Holi number that is designed as a visual spectacle, and Vidya Balan will join Kumar for the sequence.

The Latest Update

The Holi song is planned to be shot in the last week of March in Mumbai, with a studio set being created to resemble a bustling mohalla. Ganesh Acharya is choreographing the track, and the scale is being positioned as a full-blown celebration featuring a large crowd on the floor as the lead pair drives the sequence.

An insider, as quoted in the source report, said, “It’s a full-blown Holi sequence, the kind that brings together a lot of colour, dancers, and celebratory energy. The plan is to have around 300-400 background dancers on set, as Akshay and Vidya’s characters lead the celebrations in the gully. The mohalla-style set also includes balconies and terraces from where revellers will join the celebration. Ganesh has also designed a hook step that he hopes will catch on.”

The song’s staging, with multiple levels like balconies and terraces, suggests the team is leaning into that classic “gully Holi” texture that Bollywood songs have historically used to build infectious momentum on screen. With Acharya designing a hook step, the number is clearly being engineered as a potential crowd favourite, especially given the timing around the Holi season.
