Akshay Kumar is diving straight from one big-screen world into another. Barely back from the UK after wrapping a month-long schedule of Samuk, the star has now headed to Dehradun to shoot a lavish post-credit song for Anees Bazmee’s untitled family comedy, with the number being mounted on an estimated Rs 1 crore budget. For a film already carrying reunion value, the makers are clearly saving one of their splashiest moments for the very end.
A Big Post Credit Set Piece
The special song is being filmed over a five-day schedule in Dehradun and is planned as a key late-film attraction. Kumar returned from the UK on October 12 and moved to the new set within two days, keeping the turnaround between both projects exceptionally tight.
Vijay Ganguly is choreographing the track, which is being staged on a grand scale to match Bazmee’s crowd-pleasing comic universe. The song is positioned as a post-credit sequence, giving the film one final performance-driven flourish after the main story concludes. Vidya Balan is also likely to feature in it, with her portions expected to be added later. For now, the song shoot features Akshay Kumar.
The Reunion Factor
The film brings Kumar and Bazmee together again after 15 years. Their last collaboration was Thank You, which released in 2011, and this new project arrives in 2026. Their earlier associations also include Welcome and Singh Is Kinng, two titles that remain firmly tied to Kumar’s comedy star image.
It also marks another reunion for Kumar and Vidya Balan, who previously shared screen space in Heyy Babyy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Mission Mangal. That familiarity adds extra recall to a project already built around a mainstream comic setup, with Raashii Khanna joining the principal cast.
Film Details And Release Plan
Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film is billed as a Hindi comedy drama family entertainer and is scheduled to release in cinemas on December 4, 2026. It is produced by Shirish Reddy and Kuldeep Rathore in association with Cape of Good Films and Sri Venkateswara Creations.
The story revolves around a man caught between his wife and his ex-girlfriend, setting up the kind of domestic confusion and comic tension that has long been Bazmee’s sweet spot on the big screen.
Akshay Kumar Recent And Upcoming Work
Kumar has remained one of Hindi cinema’s busiest stars through 2024 and 2025, balancing theatrical entertainers with franchise-heavy titles. His recent run includes Khel Khel Mein and Singham Again in 2024, followed by Sky Force, Kesari Chapter 2, Housefull 5 and Jolly LLB 3 in 2025.
That packed slate makes the Bazmee comedy feel like a natural fit for his current phase, one that is leaning strongly into broad commercial films with familiar collaborators and audience recall. With Bhooth Bangla also on his 2026 lineup and Samuk already in production, this untitled comedy adds another mainstream crowd-pleaser to an especially busy stretch in his career.
