Yash Raj Films announced on Wednesday evening that their film Prithviraj, starring Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chhillar, Sanjay Dutt, and Sonu Sood, will be released on June 3, 2022. The film’s producers revealed a few weeks ago that it will be released on June 10th. However, due to the film’s postponement, it will compete with Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan at the box office. Priyamani also appears in the film directed by Amit Trivedi.

After the disastrous second wave of COVID-19, Ajay and Akshay were cast in the film Sooryavanshi, which was one of the first to hit theatres. Unless one of the films alters its release date, India will now compete at the box office.

Surprisingly, both Prithviraj and Maidaan are based on the lives of real-life people. While Akshay Kumar plays the brave King Prithviraj Chauhan, Ajay Devgn’s character is based on Syed Abdul Rahim, who was the Indian national football coach and manager from 1950 to 1963.

The release date for the Boney Kapoor-produced Maidaan was set long before India was hit by the third wave of the pandemic, and the film is set to hit theatres on June 3.
