Actor Akshay Oberoi, who was last seen in the web series Illegal, has joined the star cast of Fighter, the upcoming aerial action film directed by Siddharth Anand. The film features Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles, along with Anil Kapoor and Karan Singh Grover in key roles.

First look of Akshay Oberoi as Basheer Khan in Fighter
Akshay Oberoi plays the role of Basheer Khan, a weapon system operator who assists Hrithik Roshan’s character, Shamsher Pathania, a squadron leader in the Indian Air Force. The film is said to have some high-octane aerial action sequences that will showcase the skills and bravery of the fighter pilots.
Akshay Oberoi took to his Instagram account on Wednesday to share his first look poster from the film, where he is seen wearing a flight suit and helmet, with the name Basheer Khan written on it.
This comes after the poster unveiling of Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor and Karan Singh Grover.

Teaser Of Fighter Registers 3rd Highest Views On YouTube Behind Dunki And Maidaan
The first teaser of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starter aerial action thriller Fighter received a unanimous positive reception from audiences which has raised anticipation for the movie that is scheduled to release on January 25, 2024, during Republic Day weekend.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, the teaser of Fighter scored 23.3+ million views and approx. 400K likes on YouTube, making it among the most-watched outright Bollywood movie teasers in the first 24 hours. It has been trending as well on the platform.
The 1 minute and 13 seconds action-packed promo is the third most-watched Bollywood film teaser, behind Shah Rukh Khan‘s Dunki teaser aka Dunki drop 1 which garnered around 36.80 million views and Ajay Devgn‘s Maidaan (29.4 million) in the first 24 hours.
The mission is on the go and with the teaser garnering a phenomenal 74 Million views across all the platforms, Fighter has indeed achieved the initial target.
Fighter is the first film in a planned franchise that will explore the world of aerial warfare. The film is produced by Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures, and is slated to release on 25 January 2024 coinciding with the Republic Day weekend.
