Alia Bhatt is stepping onto one of the biggest global climate stages of the year. The actor, producer and entrepreneur has been confirmed as one of the presenters for The Earthshot Prize 2026 Awards Night in Mumbai, where she will hand out one of the five awards at the high-profile ceremony bringing together 5,000 guests from across film, music, sport and entertainment.
The 2026 edition also marks the first time The Earthshot Prize ceremony will stream globally on Prime Video, making the Mumbai event visible to audiences in more than 240 countries and territories and in over 40 languages. Alongside the environmental honours themselves, that kind of reach gives this year’s ceremony unusual crossover power, placing celebrity visibility and climate action on the same global stage.
Alia Bhatt Joins A Star-Studded Earthshot Line-Up
Bhatt will share the spotlight with Oscar winner Rami Malek, cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar and British actor and musician Simone Ashley, while Karan Johar is set to host the evening. More names are expected to be announced closer to the event, but the current line-up already signals the kind of broad entertainment pull Earthshot is bringing to Mumbai this year.
In her official statement, Alia Bhatt said, “The Earthshot Prize is really about hope… but hope that comes with ideas, action and people who are finding new ways forward. That’s what makes it so inspiring to be a part of. There are people across the world doing incredible work to protect and repair our planet, often in ways we may never have imagined. And to have Mumbai bring all these people together feels very special. I’m proud that India gets to be part of this moment, and I’m really looking forward to celebrating the people behind these solutions and the work they’re doing for all of us.”
Why Mumbai Matters For Earthshot 2026
Founded by Prince William in 2020, The Earthshot Prize was created to champion solutions to urgent environmental challenges through five categories: Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build a Waste-Free World and Fix Our Climate. Hosting the awards in Mumbai gives that mission a distinctly local resonance, connecting a global climate platform with one of the world’s most influential entertainment capitals.
For Bhatt, that overlap feels especially natural. She has increasingly built a public identity that extends beyond film, balancing screen work with entrepreneurship and international visibility, which makes her presence at Earthshot feel like a credible extension of the wider image she now carries.
Alia Bhatt’s Recent And Upcoming Work
That wider image has been shaped by a career run that now stretches comfortably from mainstream Hindi blockbusters to international streaming titles, which helps explain why her Earthshot appearance lands as more than a routine celebrity booking. Bhatt’s recent releases include Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in 2023, directed by Karan Johar and co-starring Ranveer Singh, her Hollywood debut Heart of Stone in 2023 alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan on Netflix, and Jigra in 2024.
She is also attached to Alpha, the YRF spy universe film listed for 2026, as well as Love & War, one of her most closely watched announced projects with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. Taken together, those projects underline the scale of her current career phase, one that makes her a natural fit for a global event looking to blend star power with purpose.
