Ever since coronavirus and nationwide lockdown, no major film released at the box office. Now showing a ray of hope for the distributors of Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma starrer Roohi is set to release in the cinema halls.
After almost a year a major film is getting on to the big screen and trade analysts are expecting to see the audience returning to cinema halls. All other filmmakers’ eyes will be on this film to see how this horror-comedy works at the box office before announcing the theatrical release.
Presently advance booking is going on since Mumbai is suffering from a sudden rise in Covid cases it was expected that it will hamper the business. However, on the contrary, the advance booking is 5-10% fast filling and already full shows on Thursday & Friday, the weekend is better with 10-15% of shows getting healthy occupancies.
Now it is expected that more shows will get sold out before the film’s release.
However, if we talk about the national capital, there are only a few shows which are getting healthy occupancies over the whole extended weekend. The film is expected to get more steps if the word of mouth is good.
While, in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad & Chandigarh the advance booking is yet to get a considerable response.
