All Rumours: Sanjay Leela Bhansali NOT To Revive Inshallah Anytime Soon

The project was put on hold after creative differences arose between Bhansali and Khan, who was also supposed to co-produce the film.

After much speculation, it has been confirmed that filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali will not be reportedly reviving his much-awaited project, “Inshallah,” anytime soon.

The film was initially announced with great fanfare in 2019, with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. However, the project was put on hold after creative differences arose between Bhansali and Khan, who was also supposed to co-produce the film.

“There is a fabulous script for Inshallah lying dormant somewhere to be dusted and used at some point of time. But that time is not now; not in the near future, not in the distant future either because Sanjay Bhansali is currently busy with his Netflix’s series Heeramandi. This will take him right to the end of this year. He then starts prepping for the big-screen musical Baiju Bawra. Inshallah doesn’t even figure anywhere in his scheme of things right now,” Bollywood Hungama quoted its source as saying.

“It was huge decision to shut down Inshallah just a week before it was to go on the floors. Sanjay Bhansali is still committed morally to make it with Alia Bhatt. But he is definitely not looking at finding a replacement for Salman. Nor is it possible to revive the film with Salman,” its source added.

“Inshallah” was set to be a romantic drama, with Khan playing a middle-aged businessman and Bhatt portraying a young aspiring actress. The film’s announcement had created a buzz in the industry, as it marked the first collaboration between Bhansali and Khan in over a decade.
