Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated sequel, Pushpa 2, was initially set to hit theatres on August 15 this year. However, the film’s release date has now been shifted to December.
The filmmakers made this announcement on Monday evening, citing the need for additional time to complete the shoot and post-production work.
In an official statement, the makers explained, “Pushpa 2 The Rule is one of the most anticipated Indian films. Following the immense success of Pushpa The Rise, our responsibility to deliver excellence has increased significantly. We have been tirelessly working to complete the movie and release it on time. However, due to the remaining shoot and subsequent post-production work, we will not be releasing the film on 15 August 2024.”
Pushpa 2 To Now Arrive In December 2024, Clash With Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava
Last night, Allu Arjun took to his social media and unveiled a powerful news poster. He informed the fans about the change in release date. The new release date for Pushpa 2 has been set for 6 December 2024.

This change sets up an exciting clash at the box office, as it coincides with the release of Vicky Kaushal‘s Chhaava. Although Chhaava was also slated for a 6 December release, it remains uncertain if its makers will stick to this date or opt for a change.
It’s Rashmika Vs Rashmika This December
An interesting twist in this clash is that both Pushpa 2 and Chhaava feature Rashmika Mandanna in the female lead role. Chhaava is a historical drama based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, with Vicky Kaushal portraying the titular character and Rashmika as his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale.
Initially, Pushpa 2 was planned to be released on Independence Day, competing against Singham Again. However, both films have now been delayed.
Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again is now slated for a Diwali release. This reshuffle has left room for other films like Stree 2, Vedaa, and Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein to release on Independence Day instead.
