Sivakarthikeyan fans are in for a treat as the much-awaited trailer of his upcoming war biopic, Amaran, has finally dropped. The film, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, tells the inspiring yet heart-wrenching story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, an Indian Army officer who was martyred in Shopian, Kashmir, in 2014.
The trailer offers a glimpse into the life of this brave hero, portrayed by Sivakarthikeyan, while Sai Pallavi steps into the role of his wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese.
It is a blend of action, emotion, and inspiration, perfectly capturing Major Mukund’s ‘immortal’ legacy.
What’s In Amaran Trailer?
The Amaran trailer opens with a touching scene of Major Mukund singing the patriotic Tamil song “Acham Illai Acham Illai” with his daughter.
This nostalgic moment quickly shifts to Sivakarthikeyan recreating the same scene as Major Mukund, showcasing the deep connection he had with his family.
As the trailer progresses, it takes viewers through key moments of Mukund’s life, including his love story with Indhu and his challenges with his parents over joining the army.
One of the most emotional moments comes at the end, when Mukund’s daughter asks, “Appa promised to come for my birthday, will he come?” This powerful line hints at the heart-wrenching journey that awaits in Amaran, especially for those unfamiliar with Major Mukund’s tragic story.
Sivakarthikeyan took to his social media platforms to share the trailer, captioning it with a message of pride and honour.
He wrote, “I’m incredibly proud to unveil the trailer of our Amaran. A story that honours the extraordinary lives of Major Mukund Varadarajan and Indhu Rebecca Varghese, as well as the brave journey of every Indian Army man. Let’s celebrate the courage and sacrifice of our heroes in theatres this Diwali.”
