Setting the trend with its release on 29th May, Ponmagal Vandhal has become the first ever success story for direct-to-OTT release for any film. The film released on Amazon Prime Video recently and is receiving appreciation from all across for its strong narrative of a courtroom drama. Ponmagal Vandhal is the first Tamil film to have a global OTT release on Amazon Prime Videos, which was earlier set for a theatrical release.
Marking another momentous success ahead of its release on Amazon Prime Video, the makers of the film hosted the first ever digital premiere of their film on 28th May, 2020. Actors, directors and other prominent personalities from Southern industry were a part of the screening and the response was phenomenal. The film is getting praises from all across- critics, legal communities as well as the audience.
Ponmagal Vandhal brought the many firsts along. First ever for any South or mainstream cinema, this film has 5 directors playing lead roles i.e. Parthiban, K.Bhagyaraj, Thyagarajan, Pratap Poten and Pandiarajan as well. Also, the trailer itself had broken records ahead of its release. Touted as one of the biggest ever TV trailer roadblock, a potential base of estimated 14 million viewers* watched the trailer at once on their television during the primetime across Southern states of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Produced by 2D Entertainment, the legal drama features a power-packed performance by Jyotika who essays the character of a lawyer.
