Amid Backlash On Ranveer Singh Replacing SRK In Don 3, Farhan Akhtar Clears The Air With THIS Official Statement

Farhan Akhtar is one of the most talented and famous artists in Bollywood. Apart from being an actor, he is also a writer, director, producer, and musician. One of the most popular franchises of him as a filmmaker is Don. For the past decade, fans have been waiting for the third installment of this series starring Shah Rukh Khan. But today, the wait is finally over.

Today, Farhan took to social media to unveil the logo of Don 3. Right after that, he shared a long note, talking about Shah Rukh Khan and the legacy of the Don franchise. Farhan started his note by writing about the original 1978 Don starring Amitabh Bachchan which was written by Salim-Javed. He then wrote about his own 2006 film, and reimagining the classic with Shah Rukh Khan.

Farhan then wrote, “The time has now come to take the legacy of Don forward and joining us in this new interpretation will be an actor whose talent and versatility I have long admired. We hope that you will show him the love you have so graciously and generously shown to Mr Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. A new era of Don begins in 2025. Watch this space.”

Today in the morning, Farhan Akhtar took to social media to unveil the logo of Don 3. The 35-second video showcases the number 3 which is accompanied by hypnotic music. During the logo unveils, a text appears that says, “A New Era Begins.” Since the video dropped, it has received all kinds of reactions from SRK’s Don.

About Farhan Akhtar’s Don Franchise

In 2006, Farhan Akhtar came up with the action thriller Don, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, and Boman Irani. The film was an official remake of the namesake 1978 film starring Amitabh Bachchan. The film was a critical and commercial success and was followed by a sequel titled Don 2 was released on 23 December 2011. However, now Shah Rukh Khan will be replaced by Ranveer Singh in the third installment which will mark the end of an era.
