Saif Ali Khan’s decade-old legal battle has taken a fresh turn. Actress Amrita Arora Ladak has testified in his defence, supporting his claims about the 2012 altercation. The case involves Saif, her husband Shakeel Ladak and their friend Bilal Amrohi.
Businessman Iqbal Sharma has accused them of assaulting him and his brother-in-law, Raman Patel, at a luxury hotel in Mumbai.
Here’s What Amrita Arora Said
Amrita recently spoke to NDTV about the incident. She recalled how Sharma aggressively confronted their group that night. She said, “We saw someone barging into our enclosure and, in a very loud, aggressive voice, told us to shut up and keep quiet. We all got shocked at what was happening.”
She added that Saif immediately stood up and apologised to calm the situation.
Saif Called His Actions ‘Self-Defense’
Sharma has claimed that Saif and his friends verbally abused him before attacking him physically. He alleged that Saif punched him, breaking his nose, and also assaulted his brother-in-law. He later filed a police complaint, leading to charges of assault and criminal intimidation against Saif and his associates.
However, Saif Ali Khan has maintained that he acted in self-defense. He has alleged that Sharma made offensive remarks about the women in their group, which included Kareena Kapoor Khan, Malaika Arora, and Amrita Arora. He claims he reacted only to defend them.
Amrita’s testimony now strengthens Saif’s version of events. The court will review witness statements before making a final decision. The case has kept the public hooked, with both sides presenting different accounts of what happened that night.
Despite the ongoing legal battle, Saif remains focused on his career. His Netflix film Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins is set to release on April 25. He is also gearing up for Race 4, which will mark his return to the hit action-thriller franchise.
