Shah Rukh Khan is easily one of the biggest superstars in this country. Just this year, people flocked to the theatres to see Pathaan as it marked his return to the theatres after nearly five years. Apart from acting, Shah Rukh Khan is also known for his warm off-screen presence and his charity work. But unlike many, he doesn’t market all his donations and charity.
Recently, an acid attack survivor asked for Shah Rukh’s help after she was denied a bank account because she could not complete the KYC process. On Wednesday, a lady named Pragya Prasun Singh tweeted asking Shah Rukh and his NGO for help after she was denied a bank account since she could not blink.
She tweeted, “Being an acid attack survivor shouldn’t prohibit me from living a dignified life. It’s unjust that I was denied a bank a/c because I can’t blink for the KYC process. Requesting @iamsrk @MeerFoundation to help me make this world inclusive for acid attack survivors #Iwontblink.”

She has also filed an online petition which highlights the plight of acid attack survivors. Pragya has emphasized that people like her are often denied access to crucial services mainly because the facial recognition software of banks is not able to recognise them.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation
Earlier this year, SRK met several acid-attack survivors under his Meer Foundation. People quickly took to social media, where the pictures went viral, and appreciated the kind gesture of the star. Recently, his foundation donated an undisclosed amount to the family of Anjali Singh who died in a hit-and-run that took place in Delhi’s Kanjhawala region.
