Anees Bazmee’s No Entry, released in 2005, redefined the comedy genre in Bollywood. It managed to entertain audiences without relying on vulgar jokes or inappropriate innuendos, which is rare for a film dealing with infidelity.
The film’s success lay in its clean humour, high-profile cast, and well-written dialogues. Now, Bazmee has confirmed that the much-awaited sequel, No Entry Mein Entry, is set to begin shooting in January 2025.
Anees Bazmee On How No Entry Changed His Career
Reflecting on the original film, Bazmee shared with Bollywood Hungama that No Entry received immense love from audiences. He recalled how people would say, “Because of No Entry, I got an entry.”
The film was not only a milestone in his career but also for the entire cast, which included Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan.
Interestingly, Salman Khan, who was initially meant to make a guest appearance, ended up shooting for nearly two weeks. Bazmee described the experience as one filled with passion, with the entire team standing by him throughout the project.
Filmmaker Calls It A Beautiful’ Comedy
Bazmee fondly remembers the film’s first screening, where the reactions were overwhelmingly positive. He recalled how people praised him for creating a “beautiful comedy” that relied entirely on dialogues.
“There was no double meaning at all. I would never get dirty to draw in the audience,” said Bazmee.
He emphasised how No Entry was a fresh concept at the time, and though the film faced some initial release challenges, it eventually grew in popularity, proving its strength through word of mouth.
One of the standout aspects of No Entry was its star-studded cast. Despite having such big names involved, Bazmee insisted that managing them was not difficult.
He shared that Anil Kapoor had known him for years, dating back to his time as an assistant to legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor. Fardeen Khan, too, was a close friend. While he hadn’t worked with Salman Khan before, Bazmee mentioned that their friendly rapport made the collaboration smooth and enjoyable.
As for the much-anticipated sequel, No Entry Mein Entry, Bazmee revealed that filming will start in January 2025. The director added that the sequel will take off after the release of Bhool Bhulaiya 3, another highly awaited project under Bazmee’s direction.
