Actor Anupam Shyam Ojha, popularly known as ‘Thakur Sajjan Singh’ on TV, is no more. He died on Sunday at the age of 63 due to multiple organ failure. He breathed his last at Lifeline Hospital in Mumbai. Anupam Shyam was born on 20 September 1957 in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. He was one of those actors who stepped from the world of theater to the world of screen and when he got a chance, impressed everyone with the magic of his performance.
Anupam Shyam did his schooling from Pratapgarh. After this he did college from Avadh University and did theater studies from Bhartendu Natya Academy, Lucknow. Later he also started working in Shri Ram Center Rangamandal in Delhi. It was during the theater itself that he got an opportunity to work in an international film.
The name of this film was ‘Little Buddha’ which is said to be his debut film. After this she signed Shekhar Kapur’s film ‘Bandit Queen’. His look in this film was quite different, due to which he used to get the role of goons and miscreants. He played small and big roles in many films. Anupam was seen in many movies like Satya, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Lagaan, Golmaal, Dhoka, Raj, Slumdog Millionaire, Wanted, Munna Michael.
Even after working in so many films, Anupam Shyam got recognition from the TV serial ‘Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya’ in the year 2009. He played the role of Thakur Sajjan Singh in this show. With this character, he got recognition from house to house and people started calling him Thakur Sajjan Singh. He was seen quite impressive in this show set on the background of Uttar Pradesh.
Apart from ‘Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya’, he also appeared in ‘Krishna Chali London’ and ‘Doli Armaan Ki’. These days he was appearing in the second season of Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya.
