Anurag Kashyap’s Film With Kriti Sanon Is Not Happening Anymore, Here’s Why!

According to insiders in the industry, the movie has been delayed and may be canceled altogether.

The long-awaited remake of Quentin Tarantino’s classic action film Kill Bill by Anurag Kashyap and Nikhil Dwivedi, with Kriti Sanon playing Uma Thurman, began production this year. The trio had planned to start filming the revenge drama’s Indian version in the first quarter of this year when they announced it in December 2021. Kriti, who has primarily portrayed Indian females from small towns in previous films, was eager to try her hand at the action genre and play the part of a fierce woman seeking revenge. Six months after the announcement, the movie has still not begun production. According to insiders in the industry, the movie has been delayed and may be canceled altogether.

“Anurag Kashyap’s film with Kriti Sanon is not happening anymore. It has been stalled due to creative differences, and both parties have already moved on to their other projects. Anurag is now directing Sunny Leone and Ugly fame Rahul Bhat in his next, and is also in talks with John Abraham for the Ayyappanum Koshiyum remake, while Kriti is busy reading scripts and is on the verge of signing an exciting project, “a source close to the development told PeepingMoon.

Kill Bill was not to Kriti’s liking, so she politely withdrew from the film, promising to work with the director and producer on another project in the future. Kriti’s departure from the Anurag Kashyap movie is thought to be related to her recent shift in film preferences. According to reports, the Bareilly Ki Barfi actress is not a fan of action movies after participating in one for Tiger Shroff’s Ganapath.

“Action films are physically and mentally exhausting, and Kriti has realized it’s not for her. She would rather do a content-based female story after the success of Mimi, which not only earned her endless praise for her portrayal but also bestowed her with her first Best Actress award at the recently concluded IIFA 2022. She is now looking for some good, commercial female-oriented scripts and has asked screenplay writer Kanika Dhillon and filmmaker Ashwini Iyer Tiwari to write something for her,” the source added.
