In a recent media interview, Aanand L Rai discussed how Tere Ishk Mein relates to Raanjhanaa. While both films star Dhanush, Rai pointed out that the stories are not the same.
He explained that while the themes of both films share a similar intensity, Tere Ishk Mein is a distinct narrative. The rage seen in Raanjhanaa finds an extension in this new film, though Rai stressed that it should not be considered a continuation of Raanjhanaa.
