Directed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra released on September 9 starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan. Moviegoers have applauded the film and performances, especially on VFX, Shah Rukh’s cameo appearance in a large dark room where he unleashes Vana Astra.
The film performed well at the Box-office with Rs 266 cr as collections and landed on Disney+ Hotstar on November 4, 2022. Ayan agreed that the edit for the cinematic release was sharp and did not have actors’ expressions, however, the new edits provide a smoother graph. The 39-year-old director praised Shah Rukh Khan’s role in it.
“No, I did not expect it. That’s the magic of movies. As much as you are making it and spending time with it, when it releases in a cinema with a live audience it becomes something completely different. We were very excited about that sequence, we had Mr Shah Rukh Khan in that sequence,” Bollywood Hungama quoted Ayan as saying.
“It was one of the pillar sequences of the film. We wanted to start the film with a bang but you never really know if people are going to like it to such an extent and I definitely felt that whatever people felt about the film that sequence got unanimous love,” he added.
