Ayushmann Khurrana, Raaj Shaandilya, and Ekta Kapoor reunited for the highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 comedy Dream Girl after the film’s positive reception. Then it was recently revealed that Ekta had moved the release date of Dream Girl 2 from June 29 to June 23, at the request of her filmmaker friend Sajid Nadiadwala, who did not want the movie to be released on the same day as his upcoming production Satya Prem Ki Katha, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday’s Dream Girl 2 got a new update as per Pinkvilla. The movie will now be released on July 7, 2023, according to its source familiar with the development. Soon, there will be a formal announcement. The film is currently in production, and Annu Kapoor and Abhishek Banerjee are also involved. Raaj Shaandilyaa is the director. In addition to Ayushmann, Nushrratt Bharuccha was a part of Dream Girl’s debut episode.
Ayushmann Khurrana will next be seen opposite Jaideep Ahlawat in Anirudh Iyer’s directorial ‘An Action Hero’. The actor recently opened up to Pinkvilla about the effect of social media on celebrity. Ayushmaan said, “Of course, the mystery around a star will definitely go if you are on a social media platform, but it works for me because I am that relatable guy. I started as a radio presenter, theatre actor, and television anchor. I have always been close to the grass root level, to the lowest common denominator. So, it really works for me if I show a certain personality of mine on social media. Because I am that guy who has built the career around myself as a relatable guy – as a guy next door. Of course, I am breaking away from the genre after 10 years, but that doesn’t change my core. So, I have to be approachable, because that’s me.”
