Ayushmann Khurrana’s latest photo grabs attention amid extortion bid report after Tiger Shroff firing scare

Bollywood’s security concerns have sharpened again, with Ayushmann Khurrana receiving an extortion call from a man who claimed to be linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and demanded crores. The case has now moved into a deeper technical probe, with investigators examining the caller’s voice against existing police records as Mumbai’s celebrity circuit grapples with a fresh wave of threats.

The latest development comes after Tusshar Kapoor received a similar threatening audio message and less than three weeks after the firing incident involving Tiger Shroff in Juhu sent shockwaves through the industry. Together, the cases have put fresh focus on how criminal intimidation is increasingly shadowing some of Hindi cinema’s most visible names.

Police Check Voice Samples In Ayushmann Extortion Case

Police are now closely examining the threat made to Ayushmann as part of a wider extortion pattern targeting film personalities. Investigators are matching the caller’s voice with records already available to them, while also studying similarities with the case involving Tusshar Kapoor.

Tusshar had received a threatening audio clip from a man identifying himself as Harry Boxer and demanding Rs 5 crore. In that probe, the Crime Branch’s technical team compared the recording with official voice samples of Harry Boxer in its database. The samples did not match, strengthening suspicion that the caller may have invoked a known gang name purely to create fear and extract money. That finding has sharpened attention on whether a similar tactic was used in the call made to Ayushmann.

Tiger Shroff Firing Put The Industry On Edge

The sensitivity around Ayushmann’s case is impossible to separate from what unfolded earlier in Juhu. On October 18, Tiger Shroff was attacked while travelling in his car. The actor escaped unhurt, while his driver and a bystander were injured. Police have arrested 13 people in the case so far, and jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s aide Anil Pandit has been named as a wanted accused.

The impact of that incident has been immediate inside the film industry, where stars and their teams are now moving with far greater caution. Actor and security entrepreneur Ronit Roy confirmed that shift when he said, “Yes, there has been a demand to increase security cover among celebs. It’s all preventive in nature. Everyone wants to be careful and feel protected.”

That caution has also shown up in how celebrity appearances are now handled across Mumbai, with tighter police deployment and more controlled access around high profile residences and public gatherings.

Why Ayushmann’s Case Matters

Ayushmann has long maintained a relatively low controversy public image, which is precisely why this threat has landed with such force. His name entering the same conversation as recent extortion calls and security scares underlines how broad the current net of intimidation appears to be.

For Mumbai’s film world, the concern is no longer about isolated unease around one star. With multiple actors now facing threat related incidents within a short span, every new complaint is being watched not just as a single case, but as part of a much darker pattern unfolding around the industry.

He was recently seen in Dharma Productions’ Udta Teer.
