Ayushmann Khurrana’s Mupapa Locks Shreyaa Chaudhry As Leading Lady For Yrf Thriller

Shreyaa Chaudhry has landed one of the biggest casting breaks of her career. The Bandish Bandits actor will star opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in Mupapa, the Yash Raj Films and Posham Pa Pictures thriller that brings her into a high-visibility theatrical project backed by one of Hindi cinema’s biggest studios.

The casting is a significant move for both the actor and the film. For Shreyaa, it marks a decisive jump from acclaimed streaming work to a major studio feature. For Mupapa, it brings in a performer who has earned a loyal audience through emotionally textured roles and now steps into a much bigger commercial spotlight.

Shreyaa Chaudhry Joins Ayushmann Khurrana In Mupapa

Directed by Kaala Paani filmmaker Sameer Saxena, Mupapa is produced by Akshaye Widhani for Yash Raj Films along with Posham Pa Pictures. The film also marks the first theatrical collaboration between YRF and the banner co-founded by Sameer Saxena, Biswapati Sarkar, Saurabh Khanna and Amit Golani.

While the makers are keeping plot details tightly under wraps, the project has already generated attention for its unusual pairing and genre positioning. The film is currently in post-production and is slated to release in cinemas on February 19, 2027.

For Shreyaa, the project adds a major big-screen title to a career that has steadily built through strong digital performances. Her work as Tamanna in Bandish Bandits made her a standout face among younger viewers, and Mupapa now places her in a much larger theatrical conversation opposite one of the industry’s most bankable leading men.

Why Mupapa Matters For Yrf And Posham Pa Pictures

The film is an important title for YRF as it expands its slate with a thriller mounted in collaboration with a creative team known for distinctive storytelling. For Posham Pa Pictures, Mupapa becomes a notable theatrical step with a large studio partner and a mainstream star at the centre.

Ayushmann Khurrana’s presence also gives the film added weight. Over the years, he has built a screen identity around stories that carry a strong concept while remaining accessible to a wide audience. That makes Mupapa one of the more closely watched titles in his upcoming lineup.

Another key development for Shreyaa is her exclusive management deal with YRF Talent, a move that strengthens her ties with the studio as she enters a new phase in her career.

Shreyaa Chaudhry’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Shreyaa has remained active across streaming and film projects in the last two years. Bandish Bandits season 2 premiered on Prime Video in December 2024, bringing her back as Tamanna after the first season had established her as one of the series’ breakout actors. She was also seen in Boman Irani’s The Mehta Boys, which released on Prime Video on February 7, 2025, alongside Avinash Tiwary and Boman Irani.

Her upcoming slate now looks broader in scale and image. Alongside Mupapa, she is attached to Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga 2, where she has shot for an antagonist role. That is a particularly interesting addition because it pushes her beyond the warm, relatable characters many viewers associate her with, and places her in a darker part with stronger dramatic bite. Together, these projects show an actor widening her range while moving into more ambitious mainstream spaces.
