Ayushmann Khurrana reunites with Aanand L Rai for a big-budget film to be shot in USA

The project is currently under development and is expected to begin shooting in November of this year.

Ayushmann Khurrana is teaming up with Aanand L Rai for the second time. The actor has signed another Aanand L Rai producing deal, this time in Texas, according to reports. Following RS Prasanna’s romantic comedy Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and its sequel Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan, directed by Hitesh Kewalya, this will be their third collaboration.

A source informed PeepingMoon, “Ayushmann’s new film with Aanand L Rai is completely different from their previous outings. It’s a big-budget, multi-genre drama that will largely be shot in the US, and will present Ayushmann in a never-seen-before avatar. The actor has okayed the project and will dive into it after completing Junglee Pictures’ Doctor G which rolls next month in Madhya Pradesh.”

Anirudh Iyer Ganapathy will helm this film, which is touted as an ambitious production from Aanand L Rai’s label. Anirudh will make his directorial debut with this film, which is expected to feature an ensemble supporting cast. He previously assisted Rai on his films Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015) and Zero (2018). A prominent young actress has been approached to play the female lead in this film. The name of the actress is still under wraps.

The project is currently under development and is expected to begin shooting in November of this year.
