Ayushmann Khurrana Says He Would Like To Work In Malayalam Movies, Wishes To Co-Star With Fahadh Faasil

The actor declined to participate in Punjabi films when asked if he would want to work in Malayalam movies instead for the time being.

Hindi cinema stars are eager to expand their filmography, and many have expressed interest in acting in regional movies due to the rising popularity of pan-Indian movies. Ayushmann Khurrana, who has only ever appeared in Hindi movies, has expressed his desire to engage in Malayalam movies and his interest in collaborating with Fahadh Faasil on screen time.

When asked at Agenda Aaj Tak if he would be interested in working in regional cinema, the actor responded, “Bilkul, I am more attracted to South Indian cinema. Sometimes it feels like I am a South Indian born in a North Indian family. I am a huge fan of Malayalam cinema and I would want to work with Fahadh Faasil. He is one of the greatest content creators in the country and he is very inspirational. So, I think that collaboration would be really superb.”

The actor declined to participate in Punjabi films when asked if he would want to work in Malayalam movies instead for the time being. Ayushmann has already gushed about how much he adores Malayalam film. He previously stated in an interview with Bollywood Hangama, “I think we have a lot to learn from down South. They know their audience, and there’s passionate professionalism there.”

Earlier, Tamil versions of Ayushmann’s movies, including Badhaai Ho and Article 15, were released as Nenjukku Needhi and Veetla Vishesaham.

An Action Hero, Ayushmann’s most recent film, earned excellent reviews from critics but flopped at the box office. He also appeared in the 2022 movies Anek and Doctor G, neither of which performed well at the box office.
