Sooraj Barjatya is returning to the big-screen musical space in a major way, and the scale of that ambition is already clear. His next directorial, led by Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari, will feature a seven-song album composed by Himesh Reshammiya, marking a significant creative reunion more than a decade after Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
That detail instantly sets the tone for the film. Barjatya has long treated music as emotional storytelling rather than decoration, and the decision to mount a seven-track album suggests this project is being designed as a full-bodied romantic family entertainer with songs at its heart. Backed by Rajshri Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films and Anita Gurnani, the film went on floors on November 1, 2025.
Himesh Reshammiya’s Seven-Song Album Sets The Tone
Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that Himesh Reshammiya has delivered seven songs for the film. A source said, “Himesh Reshammiya has composed the music for the film. Both he and Sooraj Barjatya had worked together on Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015) and enjoyed the experience. Sooraj ji knew Himesh would be the right choice for the kind of songs he wanted. Himesh was too happy to come on board.”
The source further added, “Himesh Reshammiya has delivered 7 melodious songs in this film. Sooraj ji was clear that each track needs to be simple, soulful and mass-appealing. He has a desire that the songs should not just work among the urban crowd but penetrate into the rural areas and the hinterland. Himesh is a master of such songs and he has delivered accordingly.”
The collaboration is notable for another reason too. This is Himesh’s first soundtrack for an Ayushmann Khurrana film, bringing together Barjatya’s family-first sensibility, Ayushmann’s grounded screen persona and Sharvari’s rising star power in one musically driven package. The film has been widely referred to by the title Yeh Prem Mol Liya and is moving steadily through production.
Why This Sooraj Barjatya Film Stands Out
The project marks Barjatya’s return after Uunchai in 2022 and places him back in a space he has defined for decades, heartfelt romance rooted in family values, interpersonal warmth and songs that carry the emotional arc. With Ayushmann and Sharvari leading the cast, the film appears positioned as a younger, contemporary extension of that tradition rather than a departure from it.
That casting makes the film especially interesting at this moment. Ayushmann brings audience familiarity with slice-of-life storytelling and emotionally accessible characters, while Sharvari enters the film after a clear surge in visibility. Their pairing gives Barjatya a fresh lead dynamic without losing the accessible charm that has long been central to the Rajshri brand.
Ayushmann Khurrana’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Ayushmann’s recent theatrical releases include Dream Girl 2 in 2023 and Thamma in 2025. Dream Girl 2 gave him a commercial success after a mixed phase, while Thamma placed him inside a larger mainstream franchise setup. Sharvari, meanwhile, had a strong 2024 with Munjya, Vedaa and the Netflix film Maharaj, a run that sharply expanded her visibility across theatrical and OTT audiences.
Looking ahead, Sharvari is also attached to Alpha, the YRF Spy Universe film co-starring Alia Bhatt, making this Barjatya film another key step in her upward trajectory. For Ayushmann, the Himesh Reshammiya-scored Rajshri romance adds a fresh note to a career built on balancing middle cinema instincts with commercial appeal.
Ayushmann is also gearing up for his next release Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 on 15th May. He also finished shooting for Dharma Productions’ spy comedy opposite Sara Ali Khan.
