Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravi Kumar is set to release this Friday, generating buzz with aggressive online promotion. The trailer was dropped on January 5 and grabbed attention with its bold visuals and music.
However, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has enforced several cuts to the movie ahead of its release.
Badass Ravi Kumar Gets UA 16+ Certification After Major Edits
The film received a ‘UA 16+’ certificate on January 29, after the CBFC made significant changes. These included removing or altering sensual scenes, violence, and profanity.
According to the media report, key edits include blurring alcohol brand names and middle finger visuals. Close-up shots of a bikini-wearing woman were replaced, while cleavage and breast shots were modified. The CBFC also altered intimate scenes, like a man’s hand on a woman’s thigh and buttock.
Violence also saw major edit, with a scene of a man being cut by a woodcutter toned down. The word ‘bitch’ was muted in the audio and removed from the subtitles.

After these changes, Badass Ravi Kumar received a final runtime of 141 minutes and 44 seconds (just over 2 hours 21 minutes).
Starring Himesh Reshammiya, Kirti Kulhari, Sunny Leone, Prabhudheva, and Sanjay Mishra, and directed by Keith Gomes, the film will be released on February 7. With its edits and growing hype, it remains to be seen whether Badass Ravi Kumar will live up to the buzz.
Many have called the film ‘cringeworthy’ for its dialogues and visuals. However, it has also generated a loyal fanbase.
