Fans of the highly anticipated action-drama Devara: Part 1 were gearing up for an exciting pre-release event in Hyderabad on September 22.
However, just five days before the film’s release on September 27, the event was unexpectedly cancelled. This left many Jr NTR fans disappointed. The film’s team has released an official statement explaining the cancellation.
Devara Makers Share Official Statement After Pre-Release Event Gets Cancelled
In an official statement shared on social media, they expressed their disappointment, saying, “We were eagerly waiting for this day as we’ve worked hard on this film for years and wanted to celebrate it on a grand scale, especially since it’s the first solo release of our beloved Man of Masses NTR after 6 years.”
The statement revealed that the cancellation was due to several challenges. The timing of the event coincided closely with Ganesh Nimarjanam, which typically requires extensive preparation. The team noted that large-scale events usually need at least a week of planning.
To make matters worse, heavy rains over the past few days had created additional complications. Even though the weather was clear on the day of the event, the conditions were still not ideal for an outdoor celebration.
The situation escalated as the crowd grew larger than anticipated. “The massive turnout of fans despite our best efforts became uncontrollable as barricades were broken due to the overwhelming crowd,” the team added.
For everyone’s safety, they made the difficult decision to cancel the event. They acknowledged that many fans had travelled from various parts of the country to show their support, and they expressed hope for everyone’s safe return home.
In their closing remarks, the team apologised for the inconvenience, stating, “We deeply apologise for the inconvenience and are truly sorry for the situation. Thank you for your understanding and support. Team Devara.” Due to the chaotic scene, Jr NTR and director Trivikram, who were the chief guests, were advised to leave the venue for their safety.

This film is an epic action drama set in the 1980s and 1990s. The story follows Devara, a brave man from a coastal area. He embarks on a dangerous journey into the perilous sea to protect his community. However, he is unaware that his brother Bhaira is scheming against him. As the plot develops, Devara begins to pass on his legacy to his gentle and timid son, Varada.
