Director Anees Bazmee and actor Akshay Kumar are known to be good friends and have worked together on two popular movies, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Welcome. It’s an undeniable fact that they always brought a lot of excitement to their projects and delighted the audience.
But lately, Akshay Kumar’s movies haven’t been doing well at the box office. Anees Bazmee talked about the actor’s setback in a recent interview.
Anees Bazmee Feels Akshay Kumar Chooses Wrong People And Scripts
Anees Bazmee spoke with Siddharth Kannan about Akshay Kumar’s recent struggles at the box office. He mentioned that every star goes through ups and downs in their career. Sometimes movies don’t do well, but then they bounce back. He praised Kumar’s talent, saying he’s versatile and can do everything from dancing to action to comedy.
Bazmee suggested that Kumar might have picked the wrong scripts or worked with the wrong people at times, which affected his movies. “There can be times when he chose the wrong script or the wrong people to work with who couldn’t do justice to his talent. I am not aware of the exact reason.”
Bazmee Praises Akshay Kumar’s Punctuality
Bazmee also talked about his friendship with Kumar, saying they’ve had a great time working together on movies like Welcome, Singh Is Kinng, and Thank You. He highlighted Kumar’s punctuality and hard work, mentioning how rare it is for actors to be so disciplined. Working with Kumar has influenced Bazmee and others to be more punctual too.
The filmmaker discussed how they collaborated on outstanding films that people enjoyed. He emphasized how keen he is for Akshay to perform well again. He stated that they have a special link, even though they do not see each other for extended periods. However, when they meet, it feels as if they only saw each other yesterday.
Akshay Kumar Was Concerned When Anees Bazmee Injured His Leg
The filmmaker told a story about how he injured his leg lately and Akshay Kumar came to meet him. Even though Akshay didn’t say much, the filmmaker could tell he cared based on how he looked at the injuries and spoke with him. He further stated that this is the type of friendship they have.
Akshay instructed him to continue his rehabilitation and not neglect the issue because he has had numerous injuries while filming action scenes, so he understands how it feels. Akshay sincerely hoped for his recovery and was concerned about him.
