Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan have finally slipped back into their comfort zone of chaos, comedy and perfectly timed confusion, and the first taste of their reunion in Bhooth Bangla is already stirring a fascinating cultural conversation online. The film’s opening track, Ram Ji Aake Bhala Karenge, dropped on February 26, 2026, and while it is designed as a high-energy promo, it has unexpectedly set off a nostalgia wave for fans of Satyajit Ray’s beloved Bengali classic Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne.
The buzz is not about the hook step or the ghostly set dressing. It is about the rap.
The Latest Update: Netizens Link The Rap Pattern To Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne
Soon after Ram Ji Aake Bhala Karenge landed, social media users began pointing out similarities between Mellow D’s rapid-fire list of “ghost names” and the playful, rhythmic wordplay of Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor from Ray’s 1969 film Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne. In Bhooth Bangla’s track, Akshay is surrounded by spirits as the rap drops a roll-call of bhoot variants like “nar bhoot, mada bhoot, seedha bhoot, sada bhoot,” continuing in the same tongue-twisting style.
In Ray’s iconic number, the King of Ghosts gifts Goopy and Bagha their three wishes, while the song rattles off an equally whimsical parade of ghost types, including “baba bhoot” and “kaana bhoot” among several others. The structure, cadence and comic-ghost atmosphere are exactly what listeners are responding to, even though the makers of Bhooth Bangla have not issued an official comment on the comparisons.
The track’s video is positioned as a promotional asset rather than a spoiler-heavy film sequence, but it has done its job: it has put Akshay back in a familiar comedic space, and placed the film firmly in the “family horror-comedy” lane.
