Bhumi Pednekar is heading into darker territory, and this time the scale is unmistakably theatrical. On November 4, 2026, T-Series Films and Prabhleen Sandhu’s Almighty Motion Picture unveiled Jaani Dushman, an original horror franchise with Bhumi in the lead, positioning the actor at the centre of a supernatural big-screen play aimed at cinemas in 2027.
The announcement does more than add another title to Bhumi’s lineup. It places her at the front of a franchise-driven horror film that is being built as an emotionally charged spectacle, with Robbie Grewal on board as Creative Producer, Arshad Syed directing, and international stunt specialist Peter Pedrero joining the team to shape its physical horror action and set-piece scale.
A New Horror Franchise Takes Shape
What gives Jaani Dushman its early intrigue is the way it blends genre ambition with an emotional core. Set against the atmospheric backdrop of the United Kingdom, the film is described as a mother-daughter story wrapped in supernatural fear, buried family secrets and cinematic horror moments designed for the big screen.
The addition of Peter Pedrero as International Horror Action/Stunt Director also signals the film’s intent to push beyond standard genre staging. His credits include Harry Potter, Fast & Furious, The Expendables, Game of Thrones and The Conjuring, a résumé that brings a distinctly international action-and-effects edge to the project.
Bhushan Kumar said, “Almighty Motion Picture has been a valued creative partner, and it’s always a pleasure working with Prabhleen and her team. After Made in India, A Titan Story, we are happy to be collaborating with them again on Jaani Dushman. The film brings together an interesting mix of talent, with Peter Pedrero’s expertise in action and stunts adding an important dimension to the project. We are also happy to have Bhumi on board. We hope to offer audiences an engaging theatrical experience and explore the horror genre in an exciting way.”
Prabhleen Sandhu On Reuniting Her Team
Prabhleen Sandhu underlined why the film carries added weight for the people making it, especially with familiar creative collaborators returning for a larger theatrical canvas. She said, “It is always a pleasure working with Bhushan ji and T-Series. Our association has always been special, and we are excited to join forces once again for a completely different cinematic experience.
Jaani Dushman is particularly special as it reunites me with Robbie Grewal and Arshad Syed, with whom we created one of India’s most loved paranormal thriller series.
With an exceptional & a powerhouse performer like Bhumi Pednekkar leading the film and internationally acclaimed stunt specialist Peter Pedrero joining us, our vision is to redefine Indian horror with a spectacular and unforgettable theatrical experience.”
Bhumi Pednekar’s Recent And Upcoming Work
For Bhumi, Jaani Dushman lands at a moment when her choices have increasingly moved toward stories with sharper tonal identities. Her recent releases include Bhakshak on Netflix in 2024, while 2026 added The Royals and Prime Video’s Daldal to her screen slate, giving her a mix of dramatic and streaming-led visibility.
That makes Jaani Dushman feel like a meaningful next step rather than a one-off genre detour. A theatrical horror franchise gives Bhumi a fresh mainstream canvas, while also aligning with T-Series’ push to build bigger, more visually mounted genre films for cinema audiences in 2027.
