The latest Gujarati supernatural-horror film, Vash Level 2, is showing strong signs of growth at the India Box Office. After a steady start, the film took a massive leap on its first Saturday, with collections jumping by a huge 85 percent. The movie, starring Janki Bodiwala, has captured the audience’s interest over the weekend, proving that good content will always find its viewers.
A Strong Weekend Performance
Vash Level 2 had a decent opening day, collecting Rs 1.15 crore. It held steady on its second and third days, earning Rs 80 lakh on each day. However, the real story is the big jump on Saturday, its fourth day, when it raked in Rs 1.50 crore. This massive growth pushed the film’s total collection to an impressive Rs 4.25 crore in just four days.
With such a strong Saturday trend, the film is expected to have an even bigger Sunday. Trade experts predict that Vash Level 2 will easily cross the Rs 6 crore mark by the end of its 5-day extended weekend. For a film in the supernatural-horror genre, these are considered very good numbers and point towards a successful run.
A Test For Gujarati Cinema
Interestingly, while the film’s collections are good, the response from the core Gujarati audience could have been even stronger, especially since it’s a sequel to a cult classic. The analysis suggests that this is because Vash Level 2 is a serious and intense horror film. This genre is very different from the usual light-hearted comedies and family dramas that Gujarati cinema is known for, which might be why it is finding greater appreciation among non-Gujarati audiences who are fans of horror.
The real test for the film will be its performance during the weekdays. It also faces new competition in just five days with the release of The Conjuring: Last Rites. The success of Vash Level 2 is very important for the industry. If it holds well, it will give directors like Krishnadev Yagnik the confidence to make more unique and genre-breaking films in Gujarati cinema.
