Actress Taapsee Pannu has been accused of hurting religious sentiments by a member of the Hind Rakshak Sangathan, Eklavya Singh, for her recent appearance at the Lakme India Fashion Week in Mumbai. Singh has filed a complaint against the actress for wearing a revealing outfit and adorning temple jewellery with Goddess Laxmi’s statue in the locket during the fashion show. Singh is the son of BJP MLA Malini Gaur. The complaint has been filed on the grounds of hurting the image of ‘Sanatan Dharma’ (eternal religion).
An official as per ANI was quoted saying, “We received a complaint from Eklavya Gaur (son of BJP MLA Malini Gaur) against actor Taapsee Pannu for hurting religious sentiments and image of ‘Sanatan Dharma’ by wearing a locket having ‘Goddess Laxmi’ with revealing dress during ramp walk at Lakme Fashion Week held on March 12 in Mumbai.” The officials have confirmed that the investigation into the matter is currently in process.
During the Lakme India Fashion Week, Taapsee Pannu walked the ramp for designer Monisha Jaisingh and Reliance Jewels in a beautiful red gown with embellishments. The gown featured a plunging neckline, and the actress paired up the modern outfit with a statement neckpiece featuring the Goddess Lakshmi idol.
Taapsee Pannu has previously starred in several Bollywood films and is gearing up for the release of Haseen Dilruba 2. She will also be seen in the much-awaited film Dunki, where she will be seen alongside superstar Shah Rukh Khan for the first time. The movie is directed by the renowned Rajkumar Hirani.
