Bobby Deol, who is enjoying a career resurgence with ‘Animal‘, has heaped praises on his co-star Ranbir Kapoor, calling him a ‘superstar’ who has no insecurities. The actor also revealed how they rehearsed for eight days to perfect the fight scenes in the crime action thriller.
Bobby Deol says Ranbir Kapoor has no insecurities
Hailing him as an ‘amazing guy’, Bobby Deol said in an interview with News 18, “Ranbir’s an amazing guy. I love him. I’ve worked with a lot of actors. But he gave me a lot of respect. He’s a superstar, and despite that, he dragged me with him everywhere he went to promote the film. No one does that. Everybody just wants to steal the limelight. But he’s not like that. He has no insecurities.”

Bobby also revealed that they may be playing arch-nemeses but in real life, both of them got along very well, “He’s a gem of a guy. What’s similar between us is that we’re both very family-oriented. We both come from film families and we know what it is to be a part of the industry. That connected us,” states the actor, who has left everyone impressed with his performance in the film.

Bobby Deol also shared some insights on shooting the fight scenes with Ranbir Kapoor, which have created a lot of buzz on social media. He said that they had to rehearse for eight days to make it seem natural. He said, “We rehearsed for 7-8 days in Bombay before we went to England. We had to rehearse a lot because it had to look very natural. When there’s a fight scene, there are objects around you that you can use to hit each other. Here, there was nothing apart from raw power.”
The actor continues, “It’s difficult to do action sequences in cold weather, fighting, falling but we enjoyed every minute of it. Even while shooting, everybody in the unit said that they didn’t know who to root for. I’m glad that something good came out of the tough situation.”
He further says that shooting for this particular portion made him a bigger fan of Ranbir and that their chemistry was so magical. “I’m a big fan of Ranbir. He’s my favourite actor and he’s the best. I was completely mesmerised by him. We were so much in sync. We shared a chemistry that was so natural and magical. I loved every moment,” Bobby tells us.

Referring to this action sequence, Stunt master Supreme Sundar, had earlier shared, “This scene was shot in London. At that time, the set was ready at minus 8 degrees temperature. These two actors had to perform the action scenes shirtless. It was a very difficult scene, but both of them completed it very easily. This is a sign of their strong dedication.”
‘Animal‘ is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who previously helmed the blockbuster ‘Kabir Singh‘. The film is said to be a dark and gritty story of a father-son relationship, played by Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor, respectively. The film also features Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri and others in pivotal roles. The film hit the theatres on December 1, 2023 and has already grossed Rs.485 crores worldwide.
Ranbir is also set to captivate audiences in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra Part 2 – Dev. Expanding his horizons, he is actively exploring diverse scripts, with potential projects such as Madhu Mantena’s Ramayana Trilogy and Anurag Basu’s Kishore Kumar biopic in consideration, although final decisions remain pending.
