Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar was currently at the launch of the book “Changemakers”, written by authors Almas Virani and Sweta Samota. During the media session at the event, Javed Akhtar happened to mention the current topic of SRK’s son Aaryan Khan’s arrest without mentioning any name.

He said “I’ve not seen any headline on recovery of cocaine worth 1 billion dollars at a port but the recovery of charas or ganja worth 1.30 lakh has become national news. This is the price film industry has to pay for being high profile. When you’re high profile, people have fun pulling you down, throwing muck at you. If you’re a nobody, then who has the time to throw stones at you?”
He added, “You find cocaine worth ₹ one billion dollar at a port, somewhere else there were 1,200 people where ganja and a total sum of ₹ 1 lakh 30 thousand is found, according to media reports.”
“Now this has become a big national news but I haven’t seen any headline on the billion dollar cocaine.”

Aryan Khan was arrested on October 3 after officials raid the cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai. Aryan Khan was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days, after which he immediately moved to the court seeking bail but later on, the bail was rejected by the magistrate court. Aaryan is currently lodged in Arthur Road prison in Mumbai.
