Ever since director Ali Abbas Zafar Mr. India 2 the film has become a pain in the ass for many people in the industry.
The iconic 1987 Mr. India director Shekhar Kapur was the very first who speak against the proposed project by Zee Studios. However, Javed Akhtar came to rescue the film pulling Shekhar Kapur for the latter’s seeming hypocrisy. Later Anil Kapoor’s daughter actress Sonam Kapoor raised her concern that her father was not even aware of the project. Now it seems Boney Kapoor and brother Anil Kapoor are not on the same page regarding the new remake of the film.
As per the information, Boney gave his consent to the proposed project, without taking to brother Anil about it.
“Technically, Boney is in the right. He’s the producer of Mr. India. He doesn’t need to consult anyone before giving his approval. Boney shares a close working relationship with the Zee Studios. So he allowed them to go ahead (with the new Mr. India). But Anil, on hearing of the project, was aghast. And he’s right in being upset. He is not only the leading man of Mr. India but also the producer’s brother,” a tabloid quoted a source.
The film is just announced and is trapped in so much controversy. We just hope things get settled down fast.
