Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma joined together to feature in Sujoy Ghosh’s untitled movie, according to a March 2022 Netflix announcement. Kareena makes her digital debut in the movie. It is a film version of “The Devotion of Suspect X,” one of Keigo Higashino’s most well-known books. Kareena has finished the project as of now.
Reportedly Kareena Kapoor called the Sujoy Ghosh production “dramatically different” in an interview. “For me, it’s really different since, as you probably know, you usually see me in mainstream movies with song, dance, gloss, and glamor. The upcoming flicks from Sujoy Ghosh and Hansal Mehta are strikingly dissimilar from one another, Kareena claimed.
In the movie, a “single mother and her daughter commit a crime, and a neighbor helps them cover it up while a police investigation is underway.” Kareena Kapoor Khan makes her streaming debut in the film, which is produced by 12th Street Entertainment, Northern Lights Films, Boundscript, and Kross Pictures. Together with Thomas Kim, Jay Shewakramani, Akshai Puri, and Sujoy Ghosh, they will produce the movie.
Kareena has wrapped the Hansal Mehta film, The Buckingham Murders. Along with Ekta Kapoor, she makes her filmmaking debut with this project. “I adore ‘Mare of Easttown,’ so when Hansal approached me, I told him that this is something I’ve been wanting to perform. She plays a detective cop in that, so we kind of modeled it after that,” Kareena told a source. It’s the first time I’ve experimented with that.
The actress added that the movie was filmed 80% in English and 20% in Hindi. In the UK, it was extensively filmed. She continued, “I speak fluent Hindi and I also think in Hindi since that’s what I’ve done all my life. It was genuinely challenging to speak in English while thinking in Hindi because it was the first time the roles were reversed.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Kareena stated that “I never really thought that I would be a producer. But when I heard this subject, and the fact that it’s very different to a regular Hindi movie… it’s a very different take on things. So I thought that would be really nice and different,” when Ektaa and Hansal told me that, ‘since you love the script so much, why don’t you come on board as a creative producer as well, and take some calls as to what you think also and give your name to it’ – after much thought, I thought that if I love something so much, and this is a character that I wanted to play, I think it’s fun to do it. It’s the first time. I don’t know if I’ll do it repeatedly. But let’s see.”
