Such scoops and scandals used to come out easily till 90’s but since the advent of PR and digital medium, things are more guarded than ever. Today’s blind item is about an actor who is struggling at box office for a decade but his pricey attitude with producers leaves every one shocked. This weekend saw the release of a few handful films and as expected, all of those films tanked without trace. Our hunk also had a release this weekend and as usual it flopped badly without a trace. His last theatrical release earned a couple of lacs at best as makers released it in a handful theatres which that poor quality of product did deserve.
Now this latest release is again a huge washout and will be out of cinemas from Monday onwards itself. But if you see this actor’s few promotional interviews (yes this film was promoted which is a biggest joke in itself), he was talking like a bonafide superstar. One must wonder that how come he gets these films one after another despite such a poor box office record.
‘Riding’ On Back Of A Star
He is closely related to one of the big stars and his whole ecosystem. He was dating manager of the same star in past and he tries to get a lot of attention from Andheri to Bandra ‘riding’ on back of this star. This star co-produced his last theatrical disaster as well.
Many medium to small producers got a shock of their lives after meeting him as he asks for 2 crore plus fee for a film despite his last two theatrical releases did 2 to 10 lacs business! On top of that, he speaks highly about choices of films and directors he is working on, in his interviews.
His Few Films Rotting In Cans
There are already a couple of films rotting in cans for the last few years starring this ‘self proclaimed star’ as producers are wary of releasing those ‘masterpieces’ in theatres and no OTT platform is touching those ‘pieces of gold’.
We still wish that his future films will turn out to be blockbusters as this industry needs bankable actors. Box office ecosystem needs more hits and we hope against the hope that he will come out of the failures. Stay tuned with us for more blind items from the world of showbiz.
