Farhan Akhtar is one of the most talented artists in Bollywood. He is an actor, singer, writer, director, and producer. One of the most popular franchises of his career is the Don series. Shah Rukh Khan starred as the titular character in the first two installments and fans loved it. After Don 2, fans had to wait for years for any news on the third installment. The wait got over when recently Farhan announced the big news.
Ranveer Singh has replaced Shah Rukh Khan in Don 3 and this news hasn’t been well received by people who were eagerly waiting for the superstar to return to the franchise after so many years. The anger is evident in the number of dislikes the Don 3 video has received, which surpasses the total number of likes. So far, the video has a ratio of 53% dislikes compared to around 50% likes.

Ranveer Singh Might Be The Wrong Choice For Don 3
While it is obvious that fans of Shah Rukh Khan are upset over Ranveer Singh’s casting in Don 3, there is more to it than what meets the eye. If we look at Ranveer’s box-office performances, he has a string of flops behind. Putting aside the recently released Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Ranveer’s previous ventures like Cirkus, Jayeshbhai Jordaar and 83 failed to create an impact at the ticket windows. This doesn’t look good for an actor headlining such a big and successful franchise. Coupled with Ranveer’s non-serious and almost goofy off-screen persona compared to the stars that played these characters before.
Ranveer Pales In Comparison To Amitabh Bachchan And Shah Rukh Khan
In the Don 3 video, Ranveer’s voice failed to impress people as it lacked the gravitas of the voices of Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Both Amitabh and Shah Rukh lived these characters and the sinister side of Don’s personality was evident in their heavy voice. Something which Ranveer lacks. Another aspect is that Amitabh did the original Don in the 1970s, which was at the peak of his career when he was ruling Bollywood with his angry-young man roles. Similarly, Shah Rukh did both Don and Don 2 when he was truly enjoying his stardom. However, as mentioned above, Ranveer can’t be called a superstar because of the recent flops he has delivered.
