The upcoming romantic drama Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has completed its censor formalities ahead of its Christmas 2025 release. The Central Board of Film Certification has passed the film with a U/A 16+ certificate, but not before asking the makers to trim certain scenes. The Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday starrer underwent three cuts as directed by the CBFC Examining Committee.
The most significant change involved removing 15 seconds from a sexually suggestive scene in the first half of the film. The makers were asked to reduce the scene to make it suitable for the target audience. This cut was reportedly the longest among the changes requested by the censor board members.
CBFC Asked For Two Additional Changes
Apart from the scene reduction, the CBFC also instructed the filmmakers to mute and remove obscene words from both the dialogue track and the subtitles. This is a standard requirement that the censor board often makes to ensure films maintain a certain level of appropriateness for theatrical viewing.
The third cut involved muting and removing abbreviations of obscene expressions in a scene in the second half of the film. Once these three changes were implemented, the film was handed its censor certificate on December 15, well ahead of its planned release date.
Runtime And Release Details
The censor certificate reveals that Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has a runtime of 145.41 minutes. In other words, the film is 2 hours, 25 minutes, and 41 seconds long. This makes it a fairly lengthy romantic drama by current Bollywood standards.
The film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Bhumika Tewari of Dharma Productions, along with Shareen Mantri Kedia and Kishor Arora of Namah Pictures. It is directed by Sameer Vidwans, who previously helmed Satyaprem Ki Katha in 2023.
Kartik’s Collaboration With Big Production Houses
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri marks Kartik Aaryan’s first association with Dharma Productions, one of the biggest production houses in Bollywood. This is also his second collaboration with Namah Pictures and director Sameer Vidwans after Satyaprem Ki Katha. The reunion between Kartik and Sameer suggests that their previous working relationship was successful and creatively fulfilling.
The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas worldwide on Christmas 2025. The makers unveiled the much-awaited trailer earlier this week at a grand event in Mumbai. The trailer has been well-received by audiences and gives a glimpse into the romantic storyline featuring Kartik and Ananya.
