The Central Board of Film Certification has passed the Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma starrer Rahu Ketu with a U/A 16+ certificate. However, the CBFC asked the makers for several changes before granting clearance. One of the most interesting modifications involves the removal of the famous Kantara scream from the film.
The comic caper is all set to release on Friday, January 16, and the makers completed the censor process just in time for the scheduled release.
CBFC Demands Multiple Modifications
The Examining Committee asked the makers of Rahu Ketu for several changes before passing the film. In one scene, a dialogue was replaced. The drug sniffing and snorting visuals were asked to be replaced with appropriate shots wherever they occurred in the film. Additionally, all alcohol brand names were asked to be removed from the movie.
One of the more unusual modifications involved the middle finger gesture. The CBFC asked the makers to modify the middle finger to the pinky finger whenever it was shown in the movie. These changes were implemented to ensure the film received certification.
Kantara Scream Gets The Axe
Perhaps the most talked about change involves the famous Kantara film music scream. The Examining Committee asked the makers to replace the iconic voom scream that became hugely popular after the 2022 blockbuster Kantara. The scream had become a signature sound in Indian cinema and its removal from Rahu Ketu will certainly be noticed by audiences.
The makers were also asked to submit an authentication letter for the Sanskrit Shloka used in the film. These requirements ensured that the film met all certification guidelines.
Film Receives Certificate On Time
Once all the requested changes were made, the makers of Rahu Ketu were handed over the censor certificate on Monday, January 12. The length of the film, as mentioned on the certificate, is 139.40 minutes. In other words, the movie is 2 hours, 19 minutes and 40 seconds long.
The timely completion of the censor process ensures that the film will release as scheduled on January 16, giving audiences a fresh comedy option.
Fukrey Duo Reunites For Cosmic Comedy
Rahu Ketu marks the return of Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma after their successful association in the Fukrey series. The film also stars Shalini Pandey, Piyush Mishra, Chunky Panday, Amit Sial, Manu Rishi Chadha and Sumit Gulati. Director Vipul Vig, who wrote all three Fukrey films, makes his directorial debut with this project.
Pulkit Samrat had earlier said that if they both do a film together other than Fukrey, it has to be very interesting and a grade above. He described Rahu Ketu as a very exciting and fantastical world with exciting characters.
