Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 5 is all set to hit theatres on June 6, 2025, and if the staggering ensemble cast was not enough to attract audiences, makers have now upped the ante with a wild twist. There will be two versions of the film, with identical lengths, and there are two endings! Now the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared both versions with very minor and important edits. Here is what changed.
CBFC’s Audio & Visual Cuts For Housefull 5
Housefull 5 was given a U/A 16+ certificate by CBFC on May 28 but not without some edits:
- ‘Item’ and ‘haram’ were replaced with applicable alternatives.
- Dialogue such as “nikal dungi” and another line beginning with “apne” were altered.
- A dialogue in the film at 1 hour and 53 minutes was cut.
On the visual side, there were three edits:
- A ‘champagne comming’ shot was truncated.
- Two hand gestures were edited out.
- A scene with ‘sensual visuals’ was cut by 2 seconds.
Overall these edits resulted in censorship of a total of 11 seconds of footage; however, both versions were cleared — Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B — with a total time of 165.48 minutes (2 hours, 45 minutes and 48 seconds).
Two Versions, Same Length, Different Twists!
This is a historic occasion for Bollywood—two versions of a mainstream comedy released simultaneously, both CBFC approved and both playing differently in the final 20 minutes (one version implicating Killer X and the other version implicating Killer Y), meaning two different last acts, but with the same pure comic madness until then.
As reported earlier by Box Office Worldwide, this dual climax has been in Sajid Nadiadwala’s mind for a long time since he wondered about how the experience of thrillers could be altered by providing alternate outcomes (and now comedies!), almost 30 years ago.
Star Power on Board
Housefull 5 has the largest ensemble cast in Housefull franchise history:
Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Fardeen Khan, Chitrangada Singh, Chunky Pandey, Shreyas Talpade, Johnny Lever, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir.
The fifth instalment, directed by Tushar Hiranandani, aims to give audiences all the chaos and confusion they’ve come to expect from the series — along with a murder mystery.

Box Office Worldwide Verdict:
Two versions, one runtime, and an endless amount of madness —
Housefull 5 is, without question, Bollywood’s largest comedy gamble! While CBFC cleaned up a few small bits, the total insanity remains intact. Sajid Nadiadwala‘s 30-year vision has finally come together with this comedy-thriller, which now can be a case study of innovation in the genre. June 6 can’t come soon enough!
