The buzz around Chhaava is growing as the makers recently released a teaser featuring Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. Fans are excited about his intense look and dedication to portraying Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the famous Maratha warrior, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
During a recent promotion, Kaushal boldly stated that Western filmmakers make movies like Avengers because they lack “real superheroes” like Shivaji, adding that “all others will fail in front of him.”

Vicky Kaushal, who has already won a National Award, expressed great pride in being chosen for this role. He called it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, highlighting the importance of bringing such a powerful historical figure to the big screen.
“If we look into the history of India, we will find so many superheroes like Sambhaji, and Chhatrapati Shivaji that all other superheroes will fail in front of them. It’s important to tell such stories and celebrate with people. We are proud of them. It’s because of their valour and sacrifice that we can live in this beautiful country,” Kaushal said in a conversation with PTI.

The teaser for Chhaava gives a sneak peek at what’s to come, showing Vicky Kaushal in a fierce role. The 1.12-minute clip is filled with intense battle scenes, promising a visual treat for fans. Kaushal’s portrayal of Sambhaji Maharaj, roaring like a tiger as he fights off a group of enemies, looks set to be a standout performance.

Adding to the film’s appeal is Akshaye Khanna, who plays a key negative role, adding depth to the story. Rashmika Mandanna stars as Yesubai Bhonsale, the wife of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, bringing a strong female character to the film. The movie also features experienced actors Divya Dutta and Ashutosh Rana in important supporting roles.
Chhaava, produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, is scheduled to be released on December 6, 2024.
