Citadel India gears up for release in coming months as Prime Video officially confirmed the premiere date for its eagerly awaited original series, Citadel: Honey Bunny. It will stream exclusively on the platform from November 7, 2024. Directed by Raj & DK, this action-packed thriller stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The series promises a thrilling blend of high-octane spy drama and heartfelt romance, all set against the vibrant backdrop of the 1990s.
The news came during a star-studded event on Thursday, where a teaser was unveiled, giving fans a sneak peek into the series. The teaser showcased exhilarating action sequences and hinted at the series’ gripping narrative. Varun Dhawan, who plays Bunny, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who plays Honey, were present at the event and shared their excitement about the show.

Dhawan revealed a surprising detail about the production. Instead of using studio sets, the series was shot entirely in real locations across Mumbai. He said, “After Badlapur and October, I was shooting on real locations. Otherwise, it would only be sets and this and that, more glamourized. With this, we were shooting every day, one day in Bhandup, and one day in Thane. I was like – This is an Amazon show?”
He added, “I thought they would take us to sets. But they were like – No, it has to be on the streets.” His excitement about the authentic filming locations was evident.
