Sukesh Chandrashekhar had targeted not just Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi, but also Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Bhumi Pednekar.
The Enforcement Directorate, which has been investigating Chandrashekhar and his wife Leena Maria Paul in the Rs 200-crore money laundering case for the past few months, has revealed the tactic of targeting Bollywood stars.
According to the ED, Chandrashekhar gave Jacqueline Fernandez a number of expensive gifts, including Persian cats and a horse. He is suspected of defrauding a number of people, including Aditi Singh, the wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh.
According to reports, the conman tried to contact Sara Ali Khan on WhatsApp in May 2021 by posing as Suraj Reddy. As a ‘family gesture,’ he also mentioned giving her a high-end automobile. Pinky Irani, who had introduced the conman to Jacqueline, was also tasked with contacting Sara. Sara refused to accept ED’s presents in a letter dated January 10, 2022. However, after his repeated tries, she eventually agreed to accept a box of chocolates as a gift.
According to reports, the conman targeted young starlet Janhvi Kapoor through his wife Leena Maria Paul. She reportedly recruited Janhvi as the owner of a salon called Nail Artistry through her talent management agency and invited her to the salon’s inauguration on July 19, 2021 in Bengaluru.
It is also said that Janhvi Kapoor, unaware of their backgrounds, opened the salon in Bengaluru on July 19, 2021, and she was paid Rs. 18.94 lakh in professional fees. She also added that Leena’s mother gave her a “Christian Dior Tote Bag” on one of the event’s days. The actress has provided the ED with her bank account information as well as a statement.
Bhumi Pednekar was targeted by Sukesh Chandrashekhar through Pinky Irani, who approached the actress in January 2021 posing as the Vice President HR of News Express Post.
Mr Suraj alias Sukesh Chandrasekhar, the chairman of their company, was a fan of Pinky’s and wanted to speak with her about a major project, Pinky told Bhumi. She informed Bhumi that he also wanted to give her a car.
The next day, the conman phoned Bhumi and introduced himself as Shekhar. Sukesh Chandrasekhar then sent her another message from the same phone on 21.05.2021, this time introducing himself as Suraj from NE Group and telling her that his office HR Ms Irani was attempting to contact her regarding the giving of a car.
