Prior to the release of the first song, Marjaawaan, the makers of Bell Bottom released a new poster showcasing the actors. While the film has been in the news since its release, the new poster is attracting attention for all the wrong reasons. Diet Sabya, a digital creator on Instagram, posted a photo saying that Akshay Kumar’s latest Bell Bottom poster is actually a copy of a popular picture from Sri Lanka.
Both Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor can be seen smiling as they lean out of a railway door in the latest Bell Bottom poster. Diet Sabya shared a collage of the current Bell Bottom advertisement juxtaposed with Instagram influencer Camille’s viral photo. “Matlab tacky bana do sab kuch (sic),” the photo caption read.
Camille Demyttenaere is a travel blogger who travels with her boyfriend Jean Hocke across the world. She frequently posts images from her vacation on Instagram, where she has 344k followers. This photo of Camille and Jean was taken in Sri Lanka and quickly became a social media sensation.

Sharing the picture on Instagram last year, Camille wrote, “OUR FAVOURITE 2019 PIC, THIS TIME WITH VIDEO It feels like yesterday that we were riding on this scenic train journey in Sri Lanka, with some of the most beautiful views in the entire country There were lots of different opinions on this picture, and we respect that, but for us this was one of the most fun pictures to create! Happy new year everyone (sic).”
Diet Sabya’s post quickly went viral. Netizens chastised Bell Bottom’s creators for the poster’s resemblance to the Instagram influencer’s famous photo. Ranjit M Tewari’s film Bell Bottom will be released in 3D theatres on August 19th.
