After coronavirus pandemic followed by lockdown, many filmmakers turned to OTT platforms to release their films. Recently, Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani’s Laxmii also made its way to streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar.
Since the theatres in India are out of work from March amid the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, Laxmii makers have also decided to release their film on the digital platform.
Now after the government’s new guidelines, theatres are opening up on 50% capacity in many states in India. While to gather audiences some previous films are hitting the theatres and only a few new releases will happen on the big screen.
However, Akshay Kumar starrer released in theatres overseas [U.A.E, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji] with limited capacity.
The box office collection of Australia is now 2,115 USD [Rs. 1.56 lacs] from 23 screens and New Zealand box office is 1,379 USD [Rs. 1.02 lacs] from 14 screens.
